"Transatlantic Cooperation Concerning Sustainable Development in Aerospace"
Thursday, September 30

On Thursday, September 30, the French-American Chamber of Commerce will host a conference: "Transatlantic Cooperation Concerning Sustainable Development in Aerospace" presented in English by Thierry Buttin, Counselor for Sustainable Development and Transportation representing the French Ministry of Ecology, Energy, Sustainable Development and the Sea in charge of negotiations on climate change and green technologies (MEEDDM) at the Embassy of France in Washington D.C.
The conference will focus on the new important challenges that the aerospace sector is currently facing:
- the increasing pressure of the "going green" mentality, which requires airlines and manufacturers to work closely together in order to become carbon neutral by 2020.
- the emergence of new competitors in the aerospace market, including China, Russia and Brazil, which could, in the longer term, challenge the American and European positions in the market.
In this context, Counselor Buttin will provide insights as to how Europe and the US can intensify their cooperation in the aerospace industry and face the financial needs of R&D necessary to maintain their status as world leaders.
A buffet breakfast of fresh fruit, yogurt and assorted pastries will be provided.
