On Saturday, June 24, 2017, the UFE Seattle is organizing their 7th Annual Potluck to celebrate the arrival of summer!
The potluck will take place at Vasa Park, at the edge of Lake Sammamish, from 12:00 - 6:00 PM. Tickets do need to be purchased in advance, the event is free for members of the UFE.
Bring something to grill, or a salad, cheese, or dessert to share. You are also welcome to bring a drink to share, as long as it is not in a glass bottle (see below details).
Also at the potluck, J wines will be leading a "Workshop of Tasting" from 12:00 - 12:30 PM. Each adult admission ticket to the potluck will also include 4 tasting tickets. In addition, any order placed with J wines at the potluck will receive an additional bottle of wine (delivered at a later date). Offer limited to one order per family.

On Saturday June 17, the Alliance Française de Seattle will be hosting an immersion day, "L'Afrique d'hier, d'aujourd'hui, et de demain" from 10 AM - 4 PM. The presentation will explore the Francophone space of Africa and its wealth with activities and interactive discussions.

Cavilam Alliance Française in Vichy, France is the leading French language program in the world, offering French immersion to students from all over the world from ages 12 to adult. Cavilam Alliance Française has designed a specific program just for Bon Voyage French Crew and we are excited to travel this summer to Vichy! This program is open to students ages 12-19 and no prior study of French is required!
Cost is $4000 per student and program includes round trip airfare from Seattle to Paris on Delta Airlines, train tickets, accommodations in a host family, all meals, intensive French courses, cultural workshops, excursions, and sightseeing tours, plus two days with chaperones in Paris at the end of the trip!

We had the pleasure of meeting Gary Swindells, President of Costco France, in March 2016 at our annual meeting to discuss the challenges of opening a warehouse in France.
The French Costco team is proud to announce that the first warehouse is being built in the south of Paris in Villebon-sur-Yvette (91). Grand opening scheduled Spring 2017!

The French-American School of Puget Sound is currently offering a new After School French Class for high school students of fluent level French.
This class will integrate French literature, language, and culture with social studies. It will be taught by FASPS teachers Emeric Lefebvre (French) and Alexandre Balet (Histoire-Géographie). You can read their bios below.
The class will be project-based and quite dynamic: students will move between working all together and splitting into smaller groups. They will have the opportunity to work with both teachers (who will coordinate).
When: Wednesdays, 4:00-5:30 PM (September 14- May 31)
Following FASPS breaks, there will be no class on these Wednesdays: Oct 19, Nov 23, Dec 21, Dec 28, Feb 8, Feb 22, April 19.
Cost: $120/month ($60 in December and February), billed in 3 installments of $320 on Sept 7, Dec 1st, and Feb 1st.

Alexandre Balet - Alexandre has been teaching in Bordeaux since 2014. He has a Master 2 in geography, as well as a master's degree in human and social sciences. His main interests are the environment, arts, cultures, social sciences, and travel. His hobbies include sports, music, and photography. He is coming with his wife and their daughter, who will be a student in our PK.
Emeric Lefebvre - Emeric, who has a master's degree in French language & literature, has spent the past 2 years working at the University of Aix-Marseille. He speaks French, English, and Italian. He enjoys art, sports, and mountain biking. He is also an "honorary citizen" of the city of Colorado Springs.

EFGS (Education Française Greater Seattle) is providing an affordable after-school program - a unique alternative to help students sustain and deepen their knowledge of the French language and culture.
This program is aimed at French-speaking children from 3 to 12 years old attending the American local schools. During the 3-hour classes, children have many opportunities to exchange, share, listen, read and write in French thanks to a stimulating and engaging approach.
Pre-enrollment has started with classes opening in Seattle and in Redmond.
