On May 2, Le Networking was pleased to welcome Alice Kaplan as the guest speaker for an exciting discussion around her latest book, Dreaming in French: The Paris Years of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy, Susan Sontag, and Angela Davis.
Alice Kaplan, the John M. Musser Professor of French at Yale University, is the author of several books about French writers during the Nazi occupation, including The Collaborator: The Trial and Execution of Robert Brasillach (2000).

According to the author Caroline Weber, Alice's latest book is "A fascinating group portrait of three different women from three different generations whose trajectories nevertheless converge in one surprising yet significant place: Paris. In this lively, original biographie à trois, Alice Kaplan shows how time spent living in the French capital and learning about its culture gave each of these sui generis heroines 'her own ideas of what counted'-and how those ideas in turn became an indelible part of the American political and cultural landscape."
On this morning of May 2, Le Networking gathered 4 special Ladies, including Alice Kaplan, who all met and became friends in Bordeaux (France), 20 years ago.

On April 6th, Le Networking was pleased to welcome Detra Segar as our guest speaker. Detra Segar is the current Managing Director of Hermès at The Bravern in Bellevue. She joined Tiffany & Co. in 1998 and moved to Seattle to open the first store in this region. In 2006, she became Regional VP of the New York Region before retiring in 2009.
Detra offered to Le Networking's attendees a presentation about the prestigious French brand Hermès. She also brought special Hermès items for all the Ladies to see and touch!
On January 19, Le Networking was pleased to welcome Pamela McClusky as our guest speaker for a presentation and discussion around the exhibition Gauguin and Polynesia: An Elusive Paradive, presented at SAM from February 9 to April 29, 2012. This was an exclusive sneak-peek before the exhibition opens, only for the Ladies of Le Networking!
On November 10, Le Networking was pleased to welcome Lauren Adler as our guest speaker for an exciting discussion around chocolate and success!
Lauren Adler founded Chocolopolis to satisfy a craving for more than just chocolate. She has a passion for sharing the story of fine cacao in a way that is interesting and meaningful to everyone. From cacao's origins as a revered drink and valued currency for the Mayans, to its migration across the equatorial regions of the world, to the varied flavor profiles of different cacao regions, to the farming and production techniques required to make fantastic chocolate, she is fascinated by it all. A lifelong chocolate lover, Lauren has furthered her chocolate education by voraciously reading books about chocolate, playing with melted chocolate, and tasting chocolate to develop her palate, which she recognizes to be a lifelong pursuit.

On September 15, Le Networking was pleased to welcome Felice Lam as our guest speaker for an exciting discussion on personal & professional social marketing! It certainly was a very inspiring way to start the day!
