The French-American Chamber of Commerce Pacific Northwest has jurisdiction over three western states: Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.

The state of Washington is situated in the Northwest corner of the United States, sharing its northern most border with Canada. It has direct access to the Pacific Ocean. This ideal location allows the state to play a dominant role in US foreign trade, especially with East and South-East Asia. With a third of all jobs in the state linked to trade, the state is the most trade-dependent in the country. The Port of Seattle is the fifth largest container port in the US, and is the top US port by container tonnage for exports to Asia. With an area of 184.824 square kilometers, the State of Washington covers 1.8 percent of the United States. Its capital is Olympia and its population of 6,203,788 represents 2.1 percent of the total US population, placing it 15th nationally. The GDP rose to 238 billion dollars in 2004 and the GDP per inhabitant of $32,661 ranks Washington State 14th nationally. Washington State contributes 2.2 percent of the nation's wealth.

The state of Oregon is located in the far west region of the United States, with direct access to the Pacific Ocean. It is situated between Washington State to the north and California to the South. Oregon is known for its abundance of natural resources (especially in the Willamette valley region). Forestry and agriculture are its two principle industries. In 2004 Oregon ranked 27th nationally with a GDP of 121 Billion. Oregon covers 251,571 square kilometers, making it the ninth largest state. Its capital is Salem and Portland is its economic center.

Idaho is the 13th largest state with an area of 216,412 square kilometers, about 2.3 percent of the landmass of the United States. In 2004, its population reached 1.39 million, putting it in 39th place nationally. Boise is the state's capital. The Gross Domestic Product of the state in 2004 rose to $40 billion of the $10 trillion national US GDP.
