North Seattle French School (NSFS) seeks a full-time Elementary School French Teacher at its school in Seattle, Washington. The teacher reports to the Head of the North Seattle French School and works in close collaboration with the assistants and other teachers of the school. The teacher will teach one of grades K-5 as determined by the Head of School in the summer preceding the school year as determined by staffing needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in education or related field
  • Demonstrated  fluency  in French reading, writing and verbal communication
  • 2 years’ experience as a French teacher at the elementary school level
  • 2 years’ experience of demonstrated knowledge of child development and school programs
  • 2 years’ experience demonstrating  very strong organizational and communication skills
  • 2 years’ experience demonstrating  strong classroom management skills
  • 2 years’ experience demonstrating  ability to work individually and as a member of a team
  • 2 years’ experience demonstrating  attention to detail
  • 2 years’ experience demonstrating  leadership and problem solving skills
  • 2 years’ experience demonstrating  commitment to  providing high quality education to children
  • 2 years’ experience demonstrating  ability to adjust teaching style to each child’s needs

UW Department of French & Italian Studies - Lecturer Part-Time - Temporary

 

 

 

The Department of French and Italian Studies at the University of Washington is seeking portfolios from individuals interested in teaching beginning to advanced French language courses in the position of Lecturer Part-Time - Temporary. The department plans to make 2-3 appointments to this position for 2018-19, at a 67% Part-Time level, to teach 2 courses/quarter for three quarters (autumn, winter and spring). These appointments may be renewable for 2019-2020 based on instructional needs in the department, performance and funding.

 

Responsibilities include: teaching lower-division beginning to advanced French language courses 5 days/week; holding regularly scheduled office hours (2 hours per week); maintaining regular communication with language Coordinators and team of instructors; and participating in new instructor orientation in September 2018.

 

Minimum Qualifications: MA (or equivalent degree) in French or relevant field; experience teaching French language, ideally at the college level; and native or near-native ability in French and English by the time of application.
