FISW- Recess/Lunch/Afterschool Care Aide

The French Immersion School of Washington is recruiting part time aides to supervise students (Pre-school and Elementary) during recess, lunch and extended care.

The ideal candidate must:

  • Follow the school policy
  • Enjoy working with children and be attentive to their needs
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and be a team player
  • Be reliable and punctual Be able to implement and organize age appropriate games and activities
  • Have good oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Active supervision of students ensuring student safety in all situations
  • Planning and organization of varied educational and fun activities for students after school
  • Preparation and distribution of snack after school
  • Adherence to school and Washington State Department of Early Learning licensing policies and procedures
  • Communication to the appropriate person and management of student behavior, injuries, and conflicts
  • Providing social and emotional support to students and cultivating a respectful and responsible environment
  • Adherence to the guidelines of positive discipline; assistance of students with problem solving and conflict resolution

As Associate Translator, you will work directly with our French Localization Team in a rapidly changing environment to ensure the quality of a large volume of new game titles for our French web portal http://www.bigfishgames.fr. Your responsibilities will be, but are not limited to, translating and proofreading game content as well as ensuring that linguistic quality adheres to our high standards and guidelines. You excel at handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment – all with the goal of furthering the company's international growth and success. Responsibilities:

  • Translation and proofread in-game and marketing translations
  • Become familiar with our standard processes for game translations across all genres
  • Adapt your translation style to agree with our accepted translation and linguistic standards and vocabulary
  • Handle additional projects for the French site as needed
  • Work under pressure and translate a minimum of 300 words per hour for premium projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • English to French translation experience
  • Great attention to detail and passionate about the French language
  • Experience working with industry standard text editing tools
  • Proficient computer skills and MS Office Suite knowledge

Required Experience:

  • Proficiency with a CAT tool (ideally Trados) preferred
  • Knowledge of target culture

THE MISSION

As a French Language Editor, you will work directly with our French Language Lead and Localization Department in a rapidly changing environment to ensure the quality of a large volume of new game titles destined for a variety of platforms to include content on our web portal http://www.bigfishgames.frand mobile devices.  You excel at handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities will be, but are not limited to, editing and proofing game content as well as ensuring that linguistic quality adheres to our high standards and guidelines, testing games on numerous platforms for linguistic and functional issues, and leading individual titles through linguistic QA for all core languages. You have a passion for linguistics and you love to take on new challenges and are eager to join an agile, fun, and culturally diverse team that is on the forefront of casual gaming.

THIS INCLUDES

  • Perform a variety of linguistic tests on PC, iOS and Android platforms
  • Create bug reports in JIRA
  • Regress issues on all platforms per company guidelines
  • Edit existing localized game content according to internal processes
  • Maintain multiple projects simultaneously, while handling short release cycles and tight deadlines
  • Provide short translations for marketing projects and in-game strings
  • Proofread texts in French
  • Perform linguistic Asset checks and Final checks for our PC products
  • Work with other Editors to make recommendations for process improvements
  • Work with various internal stakeholders to provide high quality and on-time delivery of completed products
  • Handle additional projects for the Lead Language Editor as needed

REQUIRED ABILITIES, ACHIEVEMENTS, AND XP

  • Must be fluent in English and French(native tongue strongly preferred)
  • 6+ months experience working as a game tester preferred
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Great attention to detail

Area Manager- Aeronautics - Western USA

Summary /Objectives

This individual will be required to manage the business development, sales, projects and operations throughout the Western USA area while adhering to, and in-line with, the strategic orientations of the group to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

The first phase of this new role for the Western USA area is to start up the activity, within REEL USA, the US entity of the North American Business Unit, with a strong support coming from the Executive Management team and the Subject Matter Experts of the Aeronautics Division. Business development, networking and sales activities with Aerospace customers will be the main focus during this first phase in order to develop and established strong business relationships within local targeted companies in the aeronautical industry such as The Boeing Company and its tiers 1 & 2.

The second phase will be to build and manage a team of designers, engineers, project managers and technical experts to manage, execute and deliver projects in the area mainly for the Aerospace market. You may also be involved in other markets with synergies with other Divisions of REEL International such as Hydropower, Nuclear, Offshore and Aluminum.

Required Education and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Professional Engineering or related field. Strong aircraft /automotive production environment skills and knowledge is a must to shorten the learning curve,

2. Experience in Assembly Jigs & Tooling and handling & lifting specialized equipment would be a strong asset,

3. Excellent leadership skills; approachable and able to cultivate positive rapport with employees

4. Prior experience in management and supervisory roles, business development, sales,

5. 10-15 years of relevant working experience mainly in the Aeronautics industry with an established network within important clients such as The Boeing Company and its tiers 1 & 2,

6. Computer literate in Microsoft Windows, Office, ERP

 

7. Fluent in English (both written and oral), ability to understand, read and communicate in French would be a plus but is not mandatory.
