Internships with the French-American Chamber and France Education Northwest are unpaid, but do offer great opportunities for professional development and mentorship. As an intern, the resources at the Chamber are also available to you, enabling you to search for job opportunities, work on resumes, or meet with people who can assist you with your employment goals.
Interns assist the Executive Director and the Executive Coordinator on the daily operations of the Chamber.
Interns participate in the various business and cultural activities of the Chamber: Bastille Day Celebration, Beaujolais Nouveau Festival, Soirée Prestige, French cheese & wine demonstration, etc.
The position also includes working with the organizations of the Chamber in France (UCCIFE, ACFCI and CCI’s).
- Fluency in French and English with a working understanding of American and French business practices and customs
- A willingness to work as part of a team emphasizing collegiality, mutual respect, communication and shared responsibilities.
- The ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities, with sometimes stressful deadlines.
- Ability to work independently handling crises and last minute problems efficiently and with sound judgment.
- Ability to learn new programs and use them efficiently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and Internet
- Previous knowledge and use of Constant Contact and Typo 3 is a plus
