Brian Monnin is a veteran product and growth leader whose career has tracked the major waves of digital technology, from early internet content to space-based computing. As co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Sophia Space, he helps civil, defense, and commercial customers move AI workloads into orbit, driving product strategy and go-to-market for modular orbital compute “TILE” systems.

His product leadership began in the 1990s at Microsoft and MSNBC.com, where he helped define interactive media, broadband, and multimedia features for Office, Internet Explorer, and early streaming news. In the 2000s he co-founded MetaStories, a rich media CMS acquired by Brightcove, then led Brightcove’s publishing products, giving major media brands cloud software to manage and distribute video, audio, and interactive experiences. As mobile ecosystems took off, he founded Daily Interactive Networks, publishing award-winning mobile apps for National Geographic and NBC News, before co-founding Play Impossible, merging IoT, STEM, and cloud services into connected play experiences sold in Apple Stores worldwide from 2016 to 2018.

He later extended that record into over-the-top video and AI-powered industrial workflows, leading interactive media product management for Intel’s OTT services, guiding a SaaS video platform at Comcast Technology Solutions, and founding QUIVR AI to bring computer vision to factory-floor fault detection. As VP Growth and GM Emerging Products at WeTransfer, he launched product suites layering payments, merchandising, and review tools onto its large-file sharing platform.

At Sophia Space, he applies the same mindset—simplifying complex workflows and moving large, mission-critical data efficiently—at the frontier of orbital compute.
