A Celebration of Exploration, Friendship, and Maritime Heritage.

Join the French-American Chamber of Commerce Pacific Northwest, the Corinthian Yacht Club, Seattle Sailing Club, and distinguished guests from the maritime, business, cultural, and French-American communities for a unique evening celebrating the enduring ties between France, the United States, and the Pacific Northwest.

Held following the Round the County Race and the 40 Years Anniversary Gala of the FACC PNW, on November 10, this special gathering commemorates four historic milestones:

  • 240 years since the first French Expedition in the Pacific Northwest
  • 250 years of the United States
  • 400 years of the French Navy (Marine Nationale)
  • 40 years of the French-American Chamber of Commerce Pacific Northwest

Through history, storytelling, film, and discussion, the evening will explore the remarkable maritime connections that have linked France and America for centuries.

At the heart of the program are two powerful symbols of French maritime heritage:

Jean-François de Galaup, Comte de La Pérouse, one of France's greatest explorers, whose Pacific expeditions helped shape our understanding of the North American coastline and the Pacific Northwest; and L’Hermione, the legendary frigate that carried the Marquis de Lafayette to America in 1780, forever connecting the French and American stories of freedom and friendship.

Guests will enjoy:

- a historical presentation lead by Marc Onetto, distinguished member of the FACC PNW,

- a screening of a chosen extract of L’Odyssée des Lumières,

- discussions on maritime heritage,

- and a reception overlooking the waters that continue to unite our communities

Whether you are passionate about sailing, history, international relations, culture, or exploration, this evening offers a rare opportunity to celebrate the shared maritime heritage and enduring friendship between France and the United States. Join us as we honor the past, strengthen present connections, and look toward a future of continued collaboration across the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Thank you, Partners!
